The Youth Dairy Goat show will be held on Sunday, August 27th at 10:00 PM. Animals must be in place at the Fairgrounds by 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 26th, and are required to remain until Sunday, August 27th at 3:00 PM. Entries will be checked at 1 PM Saturday. The Youth show is open to all youths ages 5 to 18. Goats do not have to be registered; however animals will be checked by the Show Chairperson before being unloaded at the Fairgrounds. Animals must be in good health and free from disease.

Entries should be sent to: Sally Peniuk; 464 Starks Rd., New Sharon, Maine 04955, and should be recieved by no later than August 7th. Animals DO NOT have to be ADGA registered to be eligible for the Youth show. Breeds to be shown are: Alpine; Saanen and/or Sable, Nubian, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Oberhasli, Toggenburg and Recorded Grade. NO BUCKS. Junior Does, Senior Does and Wethers are eligible. Base date for age computation is August 27, 2006. There are no entry fees required for the Youth Dairy Goat show. The Youth Dairy Goat Show is sponsored by the Piscataquis Valley Fair.

Exhibitors are requested to wear white in the show ring

CLASS A: SHOWING CLASS B: FITTING

  • PeeWee: Ages 5 & 6 (Must have assistant in ring when showing)
  • Junior: Ages 7-10
  • Intermediate: Ages 11-14
  • Senior: Ages 15-18
  • Novice: Any first time exhibitor (showing for the first time this year)
BEST SHOW PERSON SHOW ORDER: Seniors, Intermediates, Juniors, PeeWees, Novice

JUNIOR AND SENIOR DOE CLASSES: Show Order: Alpine, Saanen and/or Sable, Nubien, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Oberhasu, Toggenburg, Recorded Grade. Wethers will be shown at the completion of the regular show classes.

CLASSES: JUNIOR KIDS

  1. Kids 0 to 6 months
  2. Kids 6 to 12 months
  3. Dry Yearling (12-24 months never fresh)

    JUNIOR BREED CHAMPION AND RESERVE JUNIOR BREED CHAMPION SENIOR DOES:

  4. Milkers under 2 years of age
  5. Milkers 2 years and under 3 years of age
  6. Milkers 3 years and under 5 years of age
  7. Milkers 5 years and over

    SENIOR BREED CHAMPION AND RESERVE SENIOR BREED CHAMPION WETHERS:
    Breeds of Wethers will be shown at the same time according to age.

  8. Wethers ages 0 to 12 months of age
  9. Wethers 2 & 3 years of age
  10. Wethers 4 years of age and up BEST WETHER IN SHOW

    NOTE: SPECIALTY CLASSES WILL BE HELD AFTER THE JUNIOR AND SENIOR DOE AND WETHER CLASSES ARE COMPLETE THROUGH ALL BREEDS.

    SPECIALTY CLASSES: The specialty classes will encompass all breeds at one in each class. The Herd my consist of all breeds owned by the exhibitor. Entries will be limited to one entry per exhibitor per class. Adults my help in show ring if numbers necessitate.

  12. Produce of Dam (two does from the same dam)
  13. Best Udder
  14. Herd (3 animals - 1 dry, 1 in milk, 1 exhibitor choice)
BEST JUNIOR DOE IN SHOW BEST SENIOR DOE IN SHOW

Premiums: $8 - $7 - $6 - $5 - $4 - $3 (regular classes)

$10 - $9 - $8 - $7 - $6 - $5 (Specialty Classes)

*No more than 2 premiums per class wil be paid to any one exhibitor

All Live Stock trailers must be parked in back parking lot.

All received and were worthy of ribbons
