Youth Dairy Goat Show

The Youth Dairy Goat Show will be Thursday, August 24th, 2:00 PM. The Youth show is separate from the open show and it requires a separate registration. The animals entered do not need to be ADGA registered. Entries must be received by mail no later than August 17th. Send to: Linda Clewley, 248 Corinth Rd., Garland, ME 04939 (924-5506). Eligible dairy breeds: Alpine, Sanaan, Nubian, LaMancha, Oberhasli, Toggenburg and Recorded Grades. All animals must be polled or disbudded. No animals with horns will be allowed.
Showing and Fitting Divisions are by the age of the exhibitor. Junior: Ages 7, 8, 9,10. Intermediate: Ages 11, 12, 13, 14. Senior: Ages 15, 16, 17 ,18. Novice: Any first time exhibitor unless the exhibitor wishes to be in their age appropriate class.
Premiums $8 - $7 - $6 - $5 - $4 - $3
CLASS
- Kid, under 4 months.
- Kid, 4 months to under 8 months.
- Kid, 8 months to under 12 months
- Dry Yearling.
JUNIOR CHAMPION AND RESERVE JUNIOR CAMPION - ROSETTE
- Milker under 2 years
- Milker 2 years and under 3 years
- Milker 3 years and under 5 years
- Milker 5 years and older
SENIOR CHAMPION AND RESERVE SENIOR CHAMPION-ROSETTE
There will be one set of specialty classs that encompasses all breeds held after all breeds have been shown. Entries for this will be limited to one per exhibitor. Trophy awarded to First place and premiums paid to the top three places.
- Dam & Daughter (daughter must be bred and owner by exhibitor)
- Produce of Dam (don't have to own the Doe-Dam must be owned)
- Get-of-Sire (don't have to own the Sire)
- Best Udder
- Herd (1 dry, 1 in milk, 1 exhibitor choice)
- Aged Doe not in milk
